The annual ABC Local Radio Knit-In event has begun. There are millions of people in the world suffering extreme cold. In 1992 the Wrap with Love charity began with the idea to help as many people as possible by providing warm wraps to ward off hypothermia. Thousands of wraps have been sent to people in more than 75 countries, including Australia, and with your knitting skills we can help even more people.
A designated area for knitters is set up at Orange City Library during the knitting campaign from today until August 4.
Knitters are welcome to call in anytime to knit a few rows or create a whole square (measuring 10 inches by 10 inches).
Library branches are also a drop off points for knitted squares during this time. Donations of wool (8ply yarn) and knitting needles (4mm) would be much appreciated. So come on in and get knitting!
